For families

Treasure Valley special-needs resources

A curated list of Treasure Valley organizations that serve special-needs families. Most of these are not competitors to us — they do different work, and several of them are the right first stop for families who qualify.

We are private-pay sitting. They are public programs, nonprofits, advocacy, or specialty care. Many families end up using more than one.

Parent support, training, and advocacy

If you are newly navigating special-needs services, start here. These organizations are built to help families find what they need.

Public-program administration

If you qualify for Idaho's public-funded family-support programs, these are the entry points.

DDA agencies in the Treasure Valley

Developmental Disabilities Agencies licensed in Idaho. Each provides different scopes of service — habilitation, supported employment, family training. Useful if you are looking for full-time licensed support, not occasional sitting.

Nonprofit family support

Mission-driven nonprofits that fill specific gaps for Treasure Valley special-needs families.

Specialty care

Hospital and specialty-clinic networks Treasure Valley families work with most often.

School-district special services

Special-education department contacts for the two largest districts in our service area. These are where IEPs are written and paraeducators are employed.

Where we fit

We are a private-pay marketplace for occasional sitting — date nights, dentist appointments, weddings, the Saturday afternoon. If you qualify for one of the public programs above and your routine needs fit that program, the public route is almost always cheaper and is the right first move.

We are built for the gaps — last-minute, ad-hoc, hours the public programs do not cover. Many families use a public program for the routine and us for the occasional.

A Sidekick when you need one.

If a private-pay sitter sounds like the right fit, we'd love to help.
